Thames River Melons is another stop on Oxford County’s Cheese Trail, a family-owned and operated fruit and vegetable farm. They have since expanded to grow over 500 acres of produce ranging from asparagus and rhubarb in the spring, melons and sweet corn in the summer, pumpkins and squash in the fall, and so much more.
In 1976, owners Adam and Hannie van Bergeijk took over the family dairy farm in Holland and attended a cheese-making school in Gouda. The couple moved to Canada in 1996 and focused on the art they’d always loved. Today, they enjoy a state-of-the-art facility using milk from their own herd.
